Manual subscription instructions for Google Calendar and Android devices

First, log into Google Calendar from your web browser.  On the left-hand side of the page you'll see "My calendars" and "Other calendars". 

If you click the triangle-in-a-box immediately to the right of "Other calendars" you'll get a drop-down menu, like this:

Choose "Add by URL".  This will pop a small dialogue box.  In the text field, paste in (and seriously, copy and paste this rather than typing by hand) " https://calendar.google.com/calendar/ical/6qejr5i7kjjgrb18lvia13o8io%40group.calendar.google.com/public/basic.ics " (without the quotes) and click "Add calendar".

Now from your Android device just sync the calendar by going to Settings > Accounts & Sync> username@gmail.com

*Extra Tip: After you've followed instructions above make sure your calendar is set to visible on your device by doing the following:

 

  • From any Calendar screen, touch Menu > Calendars to display.

  • A list of calendars that are synced with your phone appears. The calendars that are currently displayed are checked.

  • If Roma 2018-19 Cal is unchecked, check it
